The Challenge:
Nationwide Specialist Infrastructure Solutions approached Redev to design and implement a system to effectively manage their contract data across various construction sites. They required a robust solution capable of storing detailed information about each contract, including site specifics, timelines, budgets, and other critical data points. Additionally, the system is needed to generate comprehensive reports, enabling them to analyse and track the progress of their projects, make informed decisions, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
The Solution:
To meet these needs, Redev developed a WPF application that allows users to sign in through their Entra ID accounts, ensuring secure and seamless access. The application is specifically designed to handle large volumes of data efficiently, enabling users to import contract information at high speeds using SQL Bulk Insert. This data is stored in an Azure SQL Server, providing a scalable and reliable database solution. Furthermore, the application includes a custom-built report generation system that utilises stored procedures (sprocs) to create detailed reports based on the imported data.
To ensure the application is easily accessible and always up-to-date, we used ClickOnce technology for deployment. This allows users to download the application directly to their devices, and it automatically distributes new versions as soon as they are available, ensuring that all users have access to the latest features and updates without the need for manual intervention. Additionally, the system integrates with Azure Blob Storage for secure document storage. This comprehensive solution streamlined their data management processes and equipped them with powerful tools to support their ongoing commitment to quality and precision in infrastructure development.
